star_3In this week’s episode I share with you how to get tons of prizes you can use in your referral campaigns…for free.  I have a killer resource that allows those of you who have a blog or fitness info product to interview someone via videocast and have the video show both of you side by side, and for those of you who don’t yet have a flip camera, I’m going to show you just how easy it is to use this inexpensive marketing powerhouse.

Websites and Resources Mentioned in the Show:

Referrals are the king of fitness marketing in my opinion.  When I was selling memberships in health clubs, I generated over 50% of my sales from referrals alone.  But sometimes it helps to have a little incentive to offer people to refer their friends.  Learn how to get lots of prized for your referral campaigns.

If you have a blog or sell a fitness info product, you’ll love this week’s killer resource.  It allows you to conduct an interview, have both of you on the video screen, even if you’re on other sides of the country or even the other side of the world.

Flip cameras are amazing.  And they’re simple to operate.  I’ll show you just how amazing and just how simple they are, and you’re going to want to get your hands on one of these to use in many of your fitness marketing efforts.

As always your thoughts are appreciated. Please leave a comment below that will benefit the other viewers AND will get you noticed by Google. Enjoy the show!

The flip cam is a great idea. Any gym with a wordpress blog and a flip cam can put up video testimonials from members and live shots of their facility for those who are web shopping for clubs. This would also work great to sell boot camp workouts and other fitness group products. Thanks for the tip.

  2. Great Show again!

Referral promotions are powerful, but they are only as powerful as the staff that promotes them. I see many clubs make the mistake of putting a couple signs and think members will refer people because they put up a sign that says “WIN A 32″ T.V.” Referral contests have to be continually promoted every day in the club to the members.

  3. Dan says:

Curtis, I’ve been using a flipcam for a while and I absolutely love it. I haven’t put a lot of videos up from it but the function I use most is capturing stills. I’m going to start approaching some businesses for prizes. Thanks for all the great info.

  4. I am very glad that you started using the twitter services. Your show would not be as fun to watch without your eyes. 🙂 I must say they are nice eyes.

I have a flip cam (well mine is a Kodak) but it is great. I got it to do an exercise of the week for my blog. It is a must have and like Curtis said to Curtis it is very easy to use.

MJ said that he liked the show today, he heard you as I was watching and went crazy. He said to hurry up and get back from Dallas 🙂

I can’t believe that it is show 20. They just keep getting better. I think it is awesome that you have so much fun with work and your passion for it shows. When Mrs. Right comes along she will not care that you work so much because it is what you love to do and taking work away from you would be like asking you to stop breathing. 🙂 Can’t wait for the next show. 🙂

    Rebecca says:

I’ll continue the praise. I go to the conferences, I’ve bought books, I’ve been on newsletter lists with Tom Plumber and some others, but all they do is pitch their product. I know you passively pitch too, but it’s all within the context of well delivered usable information. I just became a member of GymSuccess almost as a thank you for all you provide. I feel like I get more from a couple episodes of your show than I would spending $1,000 on flight/conference fees/hotel/etc. And you offer for free and ask nothing in return.

I think your approach is perfect and I think you’re the perfect personality to deliver all of this information. You make me laugh, and I always get something from every video. So without rambling more I just wanted to say thank you. You are very appreciated.

  6. Curtis,

You are handsome, intelligent, and the knowledge that you hold is breath taking. I just wanted you to know that!
