  1. TC says:

    Hey Curtis
Thanks for the tip on delegating stuff out.

  2. Thanks for the backlink tips and all the others. It is hard for me to delegate because I once had an employee make a mistake that cost me a huge contract. I haven’t trusted anyone else to handle my stuff since then. What do you suggest?

    Best Regards,
    Richard Hackworth

  3. Joyce says:

I am going to go to Yelp.com now. Quick question…could you set up your website with the same “check this out too before you leave” idea?

  4. Jason says:

Hey Curtis, another great episode! I love hearing about delegating. Here’s my problem, I’m a control freak, I have tried delegating tasks to employees and I always feel like the come up short of my expectations. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m not communicating what I want or if it’s a motivation issue on their end. Do you have any suggestions for communicating ideas, etc as well as any ideas on how to motivate employees?

    Thanks,

    Jason

  5. Hey Curtis,

I’m not in the fitness biz anymore… but I still look forward to your show. Great stuff!

  6. Curtis,

Great Episode again. Delegating was hard for me at one time, but once you realize you can’t do everything yourself, you start to delegate more. I came to the conclusion that if I couldn’t trust someone to get something done, they why in the heck are they even employed by me. I always feared of having more work by firing an experienced person, but how much work were they saving me, if I couldn’t trust them do anything.

  7. I liked the info on leaving your thermostat set at the same always instead of turning up or down at night. The owner here cant seem to get that, she is always messing with it. My question is : We have 3 racquetball courts, the lights arent turned on until someone is going to use them. Is it more costly to turn them off and on as they are used or should we leave them on the rest of the day once they are on?

  8. Curtis,

Great show this week. Clicktale is a great resource!

I agree 100, delegation is the key to success in any business.

PS: Please experiment with your thermostat for yourself before making any permanent change. I’m only a watcher of Mythbuster’s, not a scientist 🙂 In my experience you cannot always trust what you see on TV. Try it for your self and see if it works for you, it did for me in the past.

  9. Thanks for the tips. Great show. Would love to see it featured in the BodyProud Community. Tons of trainers and gym owners there who need to know about this.

  10. Matt says:

    Curtis,

    Great tip on delegation.

I have been talking about it for a long time, but I need a virtual assitant. I heard of “Get Friday” which is an ofshore virtual assistant. $9 an hour for a long laundry list of task that they can handle. I simply cannot do everything. Fivrr can help with that too.

    Thanks as always.

  11. JC says:

Good stuff brotha! Thanks for the time you take to put these quality shows together! Keep them comin!!!

  12. Great show again! I’ve finally caught up on all 25 episodes. I’ve watched a couple twice and I always pick up a new tip.

  13. cangel veie says:

This is unique. I never thought of this. I have been to Disney and reflecting on it I see what you mean. Great ideas for entrepreneurs.

  14. Curtis,
The tip on yelp.com is awesome. As far as productivity, we fill up the next day’s schedule every night before we close, so we know exactly what we have to do and when.

Keep up the good work boss!!!

  15. Sam
    Sam says:

So out of curiosity do you actually put in place all the productivity tips you talk about? Or is it a do as I say not as I do scenario? You seem to do a lot so I assume you are really productive, but do you mainly plan your day really well to get lots done or do you delegate everything?

  16. This is my favorite television show today. I don’t have cable television, so I try to catch episodes of it on the internet. Thank god for the web!

  17. Susan Donovan
    Susan Donovan says:

    Good show again Curtis

  18. Thanks Curtis! Another interesting topic to discuss. Delegating is a skill and has to be learned as with everything else. It takes time and patience. I guess the most difficult thing about delegating is the fact that you are now relying on others to get things done. If this has not been apart of your habits all along then you should look at it as a new plan or like a new workout.
    Later
    Rich

  19. Great show yet again. I’m sure you dont get tired of hearing that 🙂 OK first you are never done by 11 since you dont get up till then 🙂 Unless you were talking about 11 pm. Since you are a night owl and love to work then.

Can you use clicktale for any site like blogs also?

Does yelp also help trainers to see what is being said about them and other trainers? I can’t wait to go check that out.

    Can’t wait for next week.

  20. Nate says:

Great episode once again! This came at a perfect time as I’m about to delegate a bunch of stuff to someone and was wondering about some of the things that I should be giving her. Your list definitely helped!

I’ll be signing up for Yelp.com as well! Thanks for the info and all the “productivity tips” in this episode.

    Nate

  21. Leland says:

Do уоu have any video of that? I’d love to find out more details.
